DragonBall Z Alternate Universe Fanfics

First of all, if you're here, you need to know what "Alternate Universe" means. It means that instead of everything being in the DBZ universe as it's seen in the manga or the anime, the author is taking the story and putting it into a slightly different context.

Alternate universe can have a variety of possibilities. In Sango's "Vegeta Nibunnoichi", she's taken the DBZ universe and given it the twist that the Jusenkyo Springs from the Ranma 1/2 anime exists, and some of the Z senshi have been cursed in them. Kichi did an alternate universe on Sango's alternate universe, giving the characters the same curses, but playing a slightly darker twist on the story. In my own "A Light in the Darkness", my co-author and I played with the idea that Yamcha was a half-Saiyan and never realized it.

There are many possibilities that are opened up when the idea of "alternate universe" is allowed. The stories on this page are all alternate universe, allowing the author to play with the characters, putting them in a different context, and seeing how they would behave. It's up to you, the reader, to open your minds to these possibilities, and to enjoy the stories for what they are.
